Bouts of depression and bouts of extreme confidence and happiness.
These can last hours to months unfortunately. There are 4 kinds of depression. They could be depressed but thinking too much and struggle to concentrate on things. When happy they can’t really sit still for longer than a few minutes if unoccupied. Ask them about the clarity of their mind/thoughts. There’s plenty information online. Would pay to search up bi-polar syptoms in google and read up on it…good luck
