It is used to treat children, adolescents, and adults with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) .

Atomoxetine increases attention and decreases restlessness in people who are overactive, cannot concentrate for very long, or are easily distracted. This medicine is used as part of a treatment program that also includes social, educational, and psychologic treatment .

In my opinion each medication should be prescribed on an individual basis. Some people may have great results and others none at all. Medication alone is not the answer, it is only part of the solution.

If the other medications are not providing the desired results than it may be time to try something else. Talk to your doctor and talk to your pharmacist.

I would not give Strattera to ANYONE. My son was on it for ADHD and became suicidal (he was 8 at the time). I took him off it immediately. About 2 weeks later, we hear that the FDA ordered to manufacturer to “black label” it because it had been shown to cause suicidal thoughts in children and adolescents. So, my answer would be “No”
